Happy New Year!

The gifts are unwrapped, the holiday goodies have disappeared (and hopefully didn’t reappear in places a treadmill can’t get to), and I think we’ve all recovered from our collective New Year’s champagne hangover. The world seems optimistic about 2011--and so are we at Lee Properties!
      With a New Year come new resolutions. It may be increased fitness, it may be professional goals, or it may be the swearing off of toxic friends or attitudes (speaking of toxic, I think I’ll personally stop paying so much attention to the continued antics of Lindsay Lohan and/or any of the Real Housewives).
        With 2010 behind us, and the world “rebooted”, now is the best time to get ahead of the game in a lot of ways. Preleasing is still underway, and is about to hit its stride; before the semester gets too crazy, it might be a good idea to resolve to take care of next year’s housing needs!
         So in this moment of setting goals, it’s good to look ahead and realize that you’re in a prime position to accomplish at least one this month. We’ve still got fabulous properties on the market for you to select from, and they’re just waiting to be your next home.
        And our resolution at Lee Properties? To continue to provide our outstanding full-service real estate expertise to our clients, and all of our future clients! And that’s a resolution that can be kept all year-round!

‘Tis the Season for Preleasin’? Yes it is!

Welcome to the 2010 holiday season, which I think already began in September. Or at least that’s when I saw the first Christmas trees propped up at the Home Depot. And welcome back to the all those fun holiday season contradictions we’ll be facing, such as burning the candle at both ends for work or school, yet excited about the impending time off. Perhaps for some of us, it could also include looking forward to enjoying Grandmother’s famous Thanksgiving spread…but constantly asking yourself if you were adopted, because you have absolutely nothing in common with your extended family. Well, I ask that question, anyway. In the past few years my immediate family simply skirts the issue by going to the Four Seasons and eating sushi. Just like the original Thanksgiving. But I digress.
Now you may be surprised that hidden during the entire hullabaloo that comes along with the holidays lies a prime opportunity for accomplishing what may not even be on your mind: finding your new place for the fall of 2011. That’s right. Preleasing has already started, and just having this piece of information can give you a head start to enjoying your holidays.
How, you might ask? First of all, the Campus and surrounding-area real estate market for leased housing is in a near-constant cycle. And kind of like a game of musical chairs, when it’s time for the next year to start, no one wants to be left hanging in August with little-to-no options as to where to live. That’s why you can get ahead of the game and start checking out places now; like a holiday buffet, you’ll have a ton of properties from which to choose. Most importantly, you’re sure to find the best place possible for both yourself and your friends. Not to mention, you can ask for fabulous new home decor as Christmas gifts.
So in between the hectic schedules we all will be facing, try and carve out just a fraction of your time to get this one thing off your full plate. Think of what you’ll want for next year, or where you’ll want to stay close to. Make a list. Check it twice.
